3 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
4 whole cloves garlic
1 large can tomatoes, whole
basil, handful + just the leaves
1 tbsp of sugar
1 tbsp salt
simmer everything in a heavy bottomed pot on low to medium (soft simmer) for at least an hour, ideally 2.
turn off the heat and let it cool for about 15mins then blend in a food processor or blender until desired consistency.
i usually like everything chunky when it comes to sauces but pizza sauce i like smooth.
